My Review
This book was so good, I wanted to forgo my typical layout and leave my review right at the top instead of having the description listed first.
If there was ever a book that would guide me towards totally rethinking my online social media use, it's this one. Right from the first page I was hooked and totally contemplating my need to feel visible online, to post images of my life, my favorites and most importantly my children.
Violet, a popular mommy-blogger/ influencer with a massive following shares her daily struggles of family life, leaving out the bad and focusing on product endorsements and carefully drafted images, she doesn't realize just how much of an impact she has on her followers, until something horrible happens and gives her the wake she so desperately needs in order to truly see the price she's paying for showcasing her life online.
Lily and Yvonne are total fan girls of Violet's, but not necessarily the kind you want. They're both obsessed and try to gain access to Violet when her online presence goes dark. Compelled to find out what happened, they come up with their own ideas leading them both to spiral out of control and make decisions that affect their lives and Violet's in ways you can't imagine.
I loved this book! It was fresh, creepy and totally real! I can definitely imagine this plot playing out in real life and have no doubt that it has.
After this read, I have no desire to post anything personal online again!
It's a must read for fall, giving you all the cozy Autumn vibes one needs when the weather turns cold.
