Love Me Stone · Elizabeth’s Nightstand · November 9–15, 2026
A little venom.
A little vow.
Seven dark romance releases for a November nightstand, from a mafia trilogy in print to a Christmas countdown with no mercy in it.

November is not pacing itself. Tuesday alone brings a Rina Kent trilogy in print, a mafia wedding, an ex installed as CEO, and a tournament where the heroine has been sent to kill the most dangerous man in it. My nightstand has formally requested a second lamp.
Blood of My Monster
November 10, 2026
The publisher pitches this one as a mafia romance with Mulan vibes, and honestly, that is enough to clear my whole evening. She has enlisted under a false front. The commanding officer she lands with is a mafia heir, and in her own words from the blurb, he is “my superior in the military and the man who’ll introduce me to carnage.” He is also watching his new recruit far more closely than protocol allows.
Rina Kent’s Monster Trilogy gets its print editions this week from Bloom Books, sprayed edges and all, which means the shelf copies finally match the obsession. If you have been meaning to start the trilogy, this is the prettiest possible excuse.
The draw: Mafia romance · Military setting · Hidden identity · Superior and recruit · Obsession.
Monster Trilogy book one. Books two and three follow on November 17 and 24.
Forsaking All Others
November 10, 2026
Fiametta Cavallaro is the sheltered daughter of the Sicilian Cosa Nostra’s capo, and she knows her job: lock away her heart and walk down the aisle to a man she does not love, because the alliance matters more than she does. Her groom, Dario Ferretti, rules the Ferretti Corporation’s Chicago outfit with strength and fear. He may not want her. He is also not who she thinks he is.
A mafia princess who decides to make her mark on her husband’s kingdom instead of quietly fitting into it? That is the version of this trope I will always stop scrolling for. Giana Darling writes devotion like a threat, and an arranged marriage gives her a very large room to work in.
The draw: Arranged marriage · Italian mafia · Mafia princess · Possessive husband · Secrets on both sides.
A standalone dark mafia romance.
Him & I
November 10, 2026
Birdie Fast did everything right. Two degrees, a stable fiancé, her dream job, and a past she has firmly filed under mistakes. Then her new CEO walks in, and he is Jarrod Storm: the man who destroyed her life and stole everything from her. He has grown rich and powerful in the years since, and he has spent them waiting in the shadows. Now he wants her back.
The publisher calls it a searing, dark love story steeped in grit, obsession, and secrets, about two broken souls who keep coming back together no matter how much they tear each other apart. Helena Hunting writing an obsessed, morally gray second chance is a gear I did not know she had, and I am very interested in watching her use it.
The draw: Second chance · Boss and employee · Obsessed hero · Morally gray · Hate to love.
A standalone dark romance from Montlake.
The Secrets of Clarence Manor
November 10, 2026
Welcome to Clarence Manor, where the secrets of the filthy rich never stay hidden for long. At prestigious Aston University, the students come from wealthy, influential families, but the true currency on campus is not money. It is secrets. Three wealthy young women live at Clarence Manor, each determined to keep her darkest truth buried, and Cassia Collins has just arrived to escape a scandalous past of her own.
Dark academia is catnip for this blog, and this one comes with a gothic manor, an elite university, and a duet’s worth of buried family history. Devney Perry stepping into her gothic era feels like an event, and the manor is exactly where I want to spend a November night.
The draw: Dark academia · Gothic manor · Billionaire romance · Elite university · Secrets everywhere.
Aston University book one, the first half of a dark academia romance duet.
This Wretched Alchemy
November 10, 2026
In a fractured realm ruled by warring noble Houses, power lives in god-shards, divine fragments that grant extraordinary abilities to whoever holds them. Revel is forced to compete in a deadly tournament between potential heirs to the throne, fighting on behalf of her enemy’s House. She is not there to win. She is there on an assignment: kill the alchemist known as the Warbringer, the most dangerous heir of them all.
The publisher calls it a dark, slow-burn enemies-to-lovers romantasy where love and loyalty become the very weapons that could destroy everything. An assassin heroine, a target she has to compete beside, and a debut author landing a starred review right out of the gate. This is my romantasy pick of the week, no contest. Well. Some contest. Hers is the deadly kind.
The draw: Dark romantasy · Deadly tournament · Enemies to lovers · Assassin heroine · Morally gray cast · Slow burn.
Ruinous Fate Saga book one, from Saturday Books. US edition out November 10.
The Drakon King
November 10, 2026
Two princes, born to rival kingdoms. Prince Reverie is heir to a kingdom built on lies, and his one goal is to avoid the crown entirely, so he runs. Prince Xandreth is heir to a dragon kingdom banished into the sky, and his one goal is finding out why his people keep going missing. Hunted by both kingdoms and by the wild creatures of the Wraithwood, the two meet on the run and have to rely on each other to survive.
The publisher promises a forbidden love story with missing dragons, ruthless betrayals, and stolen hearts, and Bramble is calling it romantasy at its best. A runaway prince and a dragon prince in forced proximity is a premise engineered to ruin my sleep schedule, and it is Terry J. Benton-Walker’s first romance for adults.
The draw: MM romantasy · Rival princes · Forbidden romance · Dragons · On the run together.
His adult romantasy debut, from Bramble.
Christmas in the Shadows
November 11, 2026
The tagline is “Twelve days of Christmas. Zero days of mercy,” which tells you most of what you need to know. This is a pitch-black Christmas dark romance, and it continues the story of Death, a possessive serial-killer vigilante, and Ella, the woman whose heart is the only one he has ever worked this hard to keep beating. This year the found family is under siege, the gifts are twisted, the secrets are buried deep, and everything counts down to Christmas morning.
There is a very specific reader who wants her holiday romance with an unhinged vigilante and a body count, and if you are reading this blog, there is a decent chance it is you. J.A. Owenby’s Shadows books do not soften for the season, and neither does this one.
The draw: Dark holiday romance · Vigilante killer hero · Possessive devotion · Found family · Revenge and ruin.
Shadows series book five, and not a standalone. Read books one to four first; the author is clear about the spoilers.
