The Strawberry Festival takes over historic downtown Watsonville for two days of live music, cultural performances, carnival rides, local artists, community booths and a menu that appears determined to test the outer limits of what can be done with a berry.
Expect familiar favorites alongside gloriously chaotic inventions. Strawberry shortcake is only the opening act.

Choose your mood
Stay for festival music, escape to the vines in Aptos or trade the crowd for Shakespeare under the trees.
Return to the water
Drive toward Capitola or Pleasure Point. Find a place to sit, put the phone away and watch the light soften everything it touches.
Let the night stay young
Get dinner in the Village, find live music or follow the glow toward the Boardwalk.
Go where the day feels alive.
You do not need a packed itinerary to have a full weekend. Sometimes it is enough to eat strawberries in the sun, hear music from half a block away and watch people being beautifully, ordinarily themselves.
